Nepal is home to the Himalayas and some of the beautiful picturesque Himalayan lakes which are one the way of famous remote trekking trails worth including in your trekking itinerary. Most are glacier lakes situated at over 4,000 miters altitude surrounded by high Himalayan ranges. Most of these lakes are inside famous and classical trekking trails and some of these are in remote areas of Nepal. Rara Lake at the far western region of Nepal, Reach by trekking or driving  
Rara Lake lies at the altitude of 2,990 meters is one of the biggest and deepest freshwater lakes in Nepal Himalayas. The surface of Lake is 10.8 kilometers, depth of 167 meters, 5.1 kilometers long, and 2.7 kilometers wide. Lake is the main feature of Rara National park. Peoples reach Rara Lake by Driving or trekking.

Tilicho Lake inside Annapurna conservation area of Nepal, Reach by trekking or Helicopter flight 
The highest lake in the world situated at 4,949 miters altitude and on the way of the famous trekking Annapurna circuit. It is Glacier Lake surrounded by Annapurna Himalayan ranges. A popular destination is only possible to reach by trekking or chartered flight. The most popular trekking destination, Tilicho Lake trekking takes additional 3/4 days from original plan of Annapurna circuit. Gosaikunda Lake inside Langtang National park, reaching by trekking or Helicopter flight
Gosaikunda Lake situated an altitude of 4,380 miters inside Langtang national park is alpine freshwater Lake. Reaching there trekking through Dhunche crossing by Lauribinayak pass (4,600 Miters). There are totally of 108 lakes (small and Big) around.  The Gosaikunda area has been delineated as a religious site. Hindu mythology attributes Gosaikunda as the abode of the Hindu deities Shiva and Gauri (Parvathi). The Hindu scriptures Bhagavata Purana, Vishnu Purana, and the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata refer to Samudra Manthan, which is directly related to the origin of Gosaikunda. Its waters are considered holy and of particular significance during the Gangadashahara and the Janai Purnima festivals when thousands of pilgrims from Nepal and India visit the area. Gosaikunda is believed to have been created by Lord Shiva when he thrust his Trishul into a mountain to extract water so that he could cool his stinging throat after he had swallowed poison. 

Phoksundo Lake
Phoksundo Lake situated an altitude of 3,611 miters inside Shey Phoksundo national park in Dolpo district is alpine freshwater Lake in Nepal. Reaching there is by trekking. The famous remote trekking plan of Upper Dolpo Trekking and Lower Dolpo Trekking reach Phoksundo Lake.   

Tso Rolpa lake
Tsho Rolpa is one of the biggest glacial lakes in Nepal. The lake, which is located at an altitude of 4,580 meters in the Rolwaling Valley of Dolakha District. The famous Rolwaling trekking passes through this lake. The trekking route is breathtaking scenery of terrace farmlands; panoramic snow covered soaring high Himalayan peaks, majority of Sherpa people and their own traditional culture, beautiful and scenic villages.

Khayar Lake
Situated at 4,650 miters altitude, Khayar Lake is inside the Annapurna conservation area of Nepal. The short trek reaches though Khopra Danda and Ghandruk Tadapani. Khayar Lake Trek offers a breathtaking panoramic view. It is a newly promoted beautiful Trekking route with a mixed culture of Gurung and Magar people and exceptional mountain views of the Himalayas including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Nilgiri.   

Panch Pokhari
Situated at 4,100 miters altitude, Panch Pokhari is a group of 5 Hindu holy lakes in the Sindhupalchowk District of Nepal. It is the 9th highest altitude wetland in the world. The top of Panch Pokhari (4,100m) offers an excellent view of Jugal Himal Range, Rolwaling Range, Gosainkund, Kanchenjunga, and Makalu. This is also a holy lake among Hindu peoples.
