Manang is 268 kilometer via besisahar. Place is 3519 meter altitude situated in the broad valley of the Marshyangdi River to the north of Annapurna mountain range. It is 10 hours driving journey from Kathmandu and bit less from Pokhara. The famous Annapurna circuit trekking route now is motorable road but hard driving. From Kathmandu to Besisahr is about 176 kilometers and driving with paved road. Once you cross Besisahar, dusty mountain road begins and end at Manang. Road access is up to Khangsar village, one day trekking from Manang.

Manang permit
Manang is inside Annapurna conservation area. Foreigners other than Nepalese need to obtain Conservation area permit and TIMS card. Both of these permits can obtain either in Kathmandu or in Pokhara. Issuing it on the way cost you double. If you are with registered trekking guide in this trip, we registered trekking companies are allow to provide you these permits and guide will handle it in every checking point with his valid license. If you are individually doing this trip to Manang, you should submit a form in ACAP office presenting yourself there with your passport details and with passport size of pictures.
Payment
Payment for Manang jeep rental can be done by our online payment system by using your credit card. Second option is to wire amount in our bank account. Third choice is to pay by cash once you are in Nepal. USD cash, Euro or Nepali cash in converted rete as per the rate of same day from Nepal Rastra bank official page.
Contract and agreement
Nepal highland treks should provide 4wheel drive jeep for Manang driving. We pick up from your hotel inside Kathmandu. Cost is based on one way just to drop. Maximum 7 peoples in a jeep can ajust. Fuel and driver is including in the cost. It should be booking confirmation with advance payment. Full payment should be done before trip starting. If cancel the booking before a week time, no cancellation charge applied. Cancel less than a week time, cancellation charge will be USD 80.
How to reduce the cost
If you feel, cost of hiring a jeep to Manang is expensive; there is way to reduce this cost. Renting cost is already a discounted cost and fixed. To make lesser the cost, you can drive with local route bus from Kathmandu to Besisahar and we can provide you a Jeep from there. Jeep available in Besisahar is not the same comfortable as from Kathmandu. It is local jeep keep running in same area every time.
Trip after Manang
Many trekking, driving or riding trips run in Manang area. Manang is way of Thorong La and Tilicho Lake. Thorong La trekking is a famous high mountain trekking route in Nepal and inside Annapurna conservation area. This route is also famous of motor biking. One of the restricted areas trekking Narphu is also on the way from Manang valley. Desert type of landscape, giant mountain views; explore the local Tibet influence villages, big monasteries and memorial hiking around Manang village are the major activities.
