Mount Kailash is a sacred mountain for Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and Bon. Pilgrimage from all over the world visit this place every year. Everybody wants to take holy bath at Lake Mansarovar and make 3 days Kailash Kora. It is believed that 3 days trekking to make a circuit of Mount Kailash which is calledKailash Parikrama or Kailash Kora is to get blessed from Lord Shiva in Hinduism, to get bless from Guru in Buddhism. Trekking is about 53-kilometre starts and ends at Darchen. Darchen is the altitude of 4,575 mitres. Bon pilgrimage makes anti-clock parikrama. Pilgrimages also make 3 times or more than 3 times Kailash parikrama in their lifetime.
Kailash Trek
The first day of Kailash Trek is about 7-kilometre driving and another 10 kilometres easy walking till Derahpuk (4,900m) – The north face of Mount Kailash. Basic Tibetan guest houses are available with dormitory beds in this place. The second day of Kailash Parikrama is considered as tough walking about 9 hours and 19 kilometres. It is serious uphills till Dolma La pass (5,613m) and serous downhill to Juthulpuk (4,760m) for overnight stay. The third day of walking is the final day of Kailash kora. It is easy 7 kilometres walking and another 6/7 kilometre driving to reach Darchen again.
Kailash trekking is only 3 days. Rests of other 9 days are entirely driving to reach Kailash and back from there. There is more than one itinerary to make Kailash trekking.
