Pikey Peak Trekking is trekking in lower Khumbu region. It is one of the newly open short trekking trails in Nepal. Pikey peak is one of the tallest hill in Khumbu region. The view from this peak is may be the best view anywhere from Nepal. Sir Edmund Hillary (First Everest climber) has claimed that, it is his best point to view Mount Everest and other panoramic mountains like Kanchenjunga, Dhaulagiri, Makalu, Gauri Shanker, Annapurna, Lhotse, Thamserku, Mera peak and may more. Take pleasure of the scenic landscape along with Sherpa culture as you walk along this trail. It is also opportunity to get unique cultures, life style and practice of Sherpa cast. 6 days trekking is starting and ending in Kathmandu. The total days of itinerary is 10 days including arrival and departure days, day in Kathmandu to explore in major UNESCO heritage sites. The first day of trekking is driving with 4wheel jeep towards Dhap Bazzar Okhardhunga district. Pleasant walking of another 2 days through beautiful landscape reaches at Pikey peak. Trekking ends at Phaplu. Take adventure flight back with tiny aircraft to Kathmandu from Phaplu.
Accommodation on the way trekking is all basic guest houses as local home stay. Hotels and professional guest houses are still not have build in this region. We use local foods prepared by local house owner. The best season of this trekking is from March to May and September to November. If you are planning to trek this route in flower blooming season, you feel luckier. Place is rich of different flowers including Rhododendron, Orchid and Mongolia flowers.
