Kathmandu to Timal is about 75 kilometer distance towards east. Driving through Dhulikhel takes about 3 hours one way. Timal was Tamang kingdom before unified Nepal by prithivi Narayan shah where Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpochhe)'s blessed reside in kingdom of Timal (as described as Yaringag in Holy Scripture) on his journey back from Tibet. He meditated here before mooving Pharping known as Asura cave now. There are several interconnected stories of Guru Rinpoche's meditation in caves of Timal and his unexceptional charges against the evils around, generation of lakes called Tongsum Kunda using his vajra (thunderbolt) and origination of Bodhichitta Maala (Praying beads) which believed not to be able to grow elsewhere other than in province of Timal in Buddhistic Nepal.
Our day tour of Timal start from Kathmandu. 3 hours drive to Timal, Explore Timal the Guru Rinpoche caves, Monastery and around. Timal also provides glimpse of mountain views including High Himalayas of Everest region and views of Tarai – the lowland of Nepal.
One day tour to Timal
08AM: After your breakfast in the hotel, start driving to Timal. Drive through Bhaktapur and Dhulikhel.
11AM: Reach at Timal village. Visit Padmashambhav cave, Shine commemorating Padmasambhav and around. Enjoy the great views of mountains and valley. Lunch in local homestay
14PM: Driving back to Kathmandu. It is same way driving back

Stay overnight in Timal
Timal village does not provides fancy star hotels. A simple home stay types of accommodation available near the Padmashambhab hill. You can explore local villages, Bodhichitta farm and stay overnight in the hill side with the views of Panaromic Mountains, hills till lowland region of Nepal and double visit the places of Guru Rinpoche the Padmashambhav. Practicing yoga inside the Rinpoche cave is also possible.
